Which biometric device is best for employee attendance in India?

A fingerprint attendance machine is the best choice for most Indian businesses. It requires no consumables, works fully offline, and stores up to 5,000 fingerprint templates. For environments where hygiene matters — hospitals, food processing, or schools — a face recognition machine is the better option as it identifies employees without physical contact.

What is the difference between a fingerprint and face recognition attendance machine?

A fingerprint machine requires the employee to touch the sensor, while a face recognition device identifies people from up to 2 metres away without any contact. Face recognition is faster in high-traffic lobbies and more hygienic, but fingerprint devices are lower in cost and ideal for teams under 200 people where speed is not critical.

Do BioMax biometric devices work without internet?

Yes. All BioMax attendance and access control devices have onboard flash storage and work fully offline. Punch records are stored locally on the device and synced to BioMax software over a local network or USB when needed. There is no cloud dependency for day-to-day operation — the devices function even during internet or power outages (with UPS).

What is an access controller and how does it differ from an attendance machine?

An access controller is an electronic panel that manages door-open permissions — it decides who can enter which area and at what time. An attendance machine records punch-in and punch-out timestamps for payroll. BioMax offers combined devices that handle both functions simultaneously, as well as dedicated multi-door controllers (C22, C24, C332, C334) for larger deployments.

When an employee is verified at the reader, it sends a relay signal to release the turnstile arm.
